Kathryn S. MacAskie
Kathryn S. MacAskie is President and Chief Executive Officer of Zarvona Energy LLC and Manager of the General Partner for The Salient Zarvona Energy Fund, L.P. Ms. MacAskie received her BS in 1979 in Civil Engineering from Rice University. She has been involved in the evaluation, acquisition, management, development, and divestiture of oil and gas assets for over 30 years. From 1995 to 1999, she served as Senior Vice-President of EnerVest Management Company, LLC, an oil and gas company in Houston, Texas, funded primarily by institutional investors. After leaving EnerVest, Ms. MacAskie served as Vice-President and Houston Office Manager for Cawley, Gillespie & Associates, providing property evaluation services for numerous oil and gas companies. She was also a founding member of FlairTex Resources Inc, acquiring assets for the entity with financial backing provided by Sandefer Capital Partners from 2001 to 2006. From 2006 through May 2010, Ms. MacAskie served as Senior Vice-President of Acquisitions of EV Energy Partners, an upstream Master Limited Partnership (Nasdaq: EVEP), focused on acquiring and managing onshore oil and gas properties. Under her leadership, EVEP acquired approximately $900 Million of oil and gas assets located in producing basins throughout the Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent, & Appalachian regions of the United States. Ms. MacAskie is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
Matthew Jurgens is the Vice President of Operations of Zarvona Energy LLC. Mr. Jurgens received his BS in 2005 in Geological Engineering from the University of North Dakota, and his MS in 2007 in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining Zarvona, Matt was employed by Royal Dutch Shell from 2007 to 2012. At Shell, he held a variety of technical and leadership roles within the company’s onshore drilling organization, focusing on unconventional shale developments in both the United States and Canada. After beginning his career at Shell as a drilling engineer in South Texas, Matt moved to Calgary, where he assisted in transitioning the drilling operations of the company’s newly acquired Montney Shale properties. In 2010, he was responsible for drilling Shell’s original exploration wells in the Eagle Ford shale, and continued to support the asset into the development phase. In 2011, Matt developed a pilot program to transition drilling engineering support for the Eagle Ford from the office directly to field locations, which due to its success, was subsequently adopted throughout Shell’s onshore US and Canadian upstream portfolio.
Robert M. MacAskie
Robert M. MacAskie is the Vice President of Acquisitions & Finance of Zarvona Energy LLC. Mr. MacAskie received a BSE in Operations Research & Financial Engineering from Princeton University in 2005, and a MS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Prior to joining Zarvona, Rob was employed by ExxonMobil from 2007 to 2012 where he held a variety of positions in development planning and reservoir engineering focusing on economic analysis, field surveillance, project planning & development, opportunity generation, and reserves reporting. Mr. MacAskie was recognized as an expert in economic modeling and petroleum fiscal systems and held leadership positions in both ExxonMobil Development & Production companies while on assignments in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Most recently, Rob was dual located in Dubai, UAE and Basra, Iraq as a Reservoir Engineering Technical Advisor for the West Qurna I oilfield in southern Iraq. During his tenure at ExxonMobil, Mr. MacAskie also received a MBA with Honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania as a member of the Executive class of 2011.
